These wise words from Gandhi have been the inspiration behind IMPACT Dance Lab. Gandhi believed that in order to change the world we had to change ourselves first. At the Lab we want to be agents of change in how dance is experienced in Albury-Wodonga, and so we have begun by thinking about how we can change our own approach to make that change happen. We have made the dance studio a more inclusive, more inspiring, more innovative and a more adaptive space that reaches out to the community through the arts. We have designed the Lab for you with your needs in mind. We look forward to the Lab becoming a hub of creative, innovative and shared art practice in Albury-Wodonga.
'I think art can change the world. If anything can change the world. it is art.'
Living and working in regional Australia is often seen as presenting some obstacles. At the Lab we prefer to see Albury-Wodonga as the perfect location: nicely situated between the capital cities, with a vibrant and growing young population, stunning natural environments, sites and attractions and a diverse and lively arts community. By basing our world-class facilities and training here we not only provide vital pathways for young regional students into careers in the performing arts and enrich the arts and cultural life of the region, we also provide a haven away from the bustle of the cities for students, dancers, teachers, and choreographers to work, grow and collaborate. It's what we like to see as the regional advantage and we have the results to show for it!
